Some of the ways I drive my D.H. crazy:

1. Having this heap o’ stuff in the living room.

Not only is this unattractive, especially the garbage bag full of fiber, but it exemplifies another aspect of my personality which irritates him… see #2.
2. I rarely complete one task completely before starting another. Hence a breakdown of projects from the pile in the first photo.

Oh no, Another Meme and Politics Too!

That was your warning to run away.  This morning on Yahoo News (complete oxymoron) I read the story of Matthew Hiasl Pan .  A quick summary: Years ago Austrian officials rescued baby chimps being smuggled in for use as lab animals. Said chimps lived in a shelter which is closing. Nice people want to donate [...]

Mid Week Catch Up

Just a quick post to say that I’m still alive and well.  All of this working and kid-farming really sucks up time though. I finally finished the Luna Moth Shawl and it is blocking in the living room.

Here’s a close up:

The yarn came from Mama-E’s Ceyeber Fiber Crazy 8 Sock Club.  And someplace on my [...]

I’m not a virgin anymore

Obviously I’m not refering to carnal knowledge. But no longer will I listen in wonder and ignorance as others expound upon their glorious visits to local fiber fairs. Today I went to Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival  in Canby, Oregon!
The sheer amount (bad pun) of sheep, alpacas, angora bunnies, * spinners, knitters and of course vendors was overwhelming.  My [...]

Seasons are changing!

The past few mornings have been cold here.  What’s more, it’s not completely daylight at 6:30 any more.

Just minutes (the time it took me to find my camera) before the sky was a wonderful magenta, but it soon faded to orange sherbet. And if that isn’t proof enough that fall is nigh, leaves are [...]

Some things just can’t be frogged

Throughout the day more than a few well-intentioned people have asked how this morning’s interview went.  And my honest answer is, “I don’t know!” One person even accused me of false modesty and insisted that I “nailed” it and just didn’t want to say so. Let me assure you that this is NOT the case. Heck, I can’t even remember what [...]

September 17, 2007

Well, heck.  Last month I received my Ravelry invitation, but I’m just now getting around to checking out their site.  Horror stories from others about missing hours instilled caution. I’m easily distracted and time is always at a premium.  Anyway, tonight I added my WIP’s to the list and officially took the plunge.  My user name [...]

Oh the Humanity!

Carnage and destruction abound on this overcast Sunday morning. No tornado, earthquake or other natural disaster is to blame.  So what happened here?  Why a slumber party of course.  Six girls are currently outside dancing on the trampoline while Gwen Stefani echoes throughout the cul-de-sac. My kitchen looks like this…

and last night my DH decided that this [...]

I Really Want to Climb on The Rock!

No, not this rock… well maybe this one too, but I was referring to another rock. Sunday Alicia, Bruce, A2, A3 and I packed a picnic lunch and headed east to Beacon Rock.  The sheer magnitude of this rock, the surrounding cliffs and the mighty Columbia River are humbling.

From our vantage point down below we [...]

At the Zoo

Saturday afternoon my friend Alicia and her long-time, not yet husband, boyfriend, Bruce drove down to visit.  My Dh was at National Guard Drill and A1 was away with her buddy at the beach.  That left me, A2 and A3 to play with our guests.  We packed up and headed down to the Zoo.
We rode [...]
