A Wonderful Time Was Had By All

Yesterday we drove down to Beaverton to visit our dear friends, Dan & Zoe.  Dan and my DH revert to juvenile antics when around one another.  It’s like having a couple of big kids.  Zoe and I escaped to her sitting area to visit while the girls enjoyed exploring their lovely back yard.

A3 took this picture of [...]

Back Again

School started again today so we all awoke and went our separate ways. A1 began junior high, A2 and A3 returned to their elementary school, the DH went to work and I went to a different elementary school to work in a Kindergarten classroom.

During the past week we kept busy trying to wrap up [...]

Away for awhile

As the new school year approaches activities increase ten-fold. Because of this and other demands I will not have time for posting, knitting (much), etc. I’ll still drop in occasionally to say “hi” and see what everyone is up to.  Cheers!

Filling in the blanks

Three days of silence was about all I could stand.  Tuesday morning I drove out to retrieve my wayward daughters from my parents.  My sister had the day off and she graciously agreed to ride along with me.
During their stay they enjoyed private art lessons.

They meandered through isolated paths of green.

They spent countless hours building cities [...]

Just a PSA to let everyone know that Penny Rae over at Pennknits is holding a contest.  Each year her family packs up and drives from their home in the Tri-Cities, WA area to Montana to visit family.  The person who guesses the closest to how many miles total were put on their vehicle during the [...]

Deafening Silence

Silence does have a sound.  It’s heavy, thick and echoes off the walls with a disconcerting, underlying buzz.  In our home it’s unnatural. It’s making me nervous.  Explaining this current phenomenon requires jumping back to events from last week.
Last week my mom called to let me know that her Aunt passed away.  She wanted [...]

my silent stand

Those of you who know me know that I detest politics with the fire of a thousand suns. That being said, I’ve decided not to watch the Olympics this summer. Yes, I’m using politics of my own to protest politics.  The hypocrisy isn’t lost. I had typed a huge tirade regarding governments and protestors in general, but  rather than post [...]
