Calendars

Yesterday we began our traditional Advent Calendars. We use the cheap cardboard kind with the little chocolates behind the windows because that’s the kind my husband remembers from his childhood in Germany. He was born in Nuremburg and lived in several different cities there because his parents both served in the U.S. Army.

Yesterday Drops Garnstudios also began their Knitting Advent calendar.  I adore their site. Not only is it one of the largest collections of free patterns on the internet, but they publish their site in many different languages as well.  Last Christmas my cousin Helena, who lives in Finland, surprised me with one of their handmade ornaments. I’d been scoping out the same exact pattern, but a lack of time prevented me from making this. I was very excited to receive this one from her.

Anyway, it’s now official… the Christmas Count Down is upon us.

May we all survive sane and unscathed.

Happy Holidays!

Sane and unscathed? Hello? Have you lost your mind already????? We have always used the cheap calendars with chocolate for Advent. I know there are the kinds with presents, but tradition is tradition!
