WTF Family Fun: Last night my eldest daughter sang in a choir concert. Of course we all went to watch, but we showed our support through active audience participation too.
We made faces (mostly subtle) to make A1 smile. My Dh waved to her. I took lots of pictures. Her sisters waved to her. We mimicked Napoleon Dynamite’s “Happy Hands” routine during her songs.
As usual, she pretended not to notice, refusing to make voluntary eye contact. Occasionally her resolve would crumble and she’d see us and start to laugh. Some times being a parent is fun!
WTF Local: Yesterday a story featuring our local school graced the headlines of the local newspaper. http://www.columbian.com/news/2010/mar/16/report-ridgefield-schools-a-fraud-victim/
Apparently this person stole at least $807,000 over a period of 10 years. She held the position for 21 years, but records only go back ten. Questions that immediately come to mind are 1. why wasn’t someone checking the books? 2. Why haven’t her belongings and assets been seized until the investigation is completed? 3. Why did the school file an insurance claim to cover her embezzling instead of going after her for the money? 4. Why is the woman still free? No wonder people here don’t want to vote yes on school levies.
Things could be worse though… check out this story http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100317/ap_on_re_eu/eu_britain_poison_soup
about what a school employee did at an English boarding school!
Or this one -from Minnesota.
WTF Walmart: Talk about a serious lack of judgement!
WTF Census: I don’t wish to participate, but apparently it’s mandatory. My gripes about it shall go unvented at this time.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
