Balance

I’m gaining weight (13 pounds since switching to a different school in October) and losing my mind. It’s a universal constant/ equalization kind of thingy.  Loss of cognitive function isn’t limited to waking hours either. Lately I’ve been having dreams that would freak out Tim Burton.  They’re kind of like this…

A3 spent her fourth weekend in a row sick (severe vomiting and diarrhea). I’ve contacted her pediatrician. If necessary, we’ll camp in the waiting room until they agree that maybe this is something other than the flu and take our concerns seriously. Until then we’ve decided to remove gluten and milk from her diet, on the off-chance that her increased intake of one of these foods on the weekend is a contributor. Who knows, without so much bread, etc. in the house maybe I’ll lose some weight and stumble across those missing memories. Then again, maybe I’m just crazy in the coconut. Cheers!

  1. Yeah. That’s Freaky.

Poor A3! Someone in my extended family has been having these repeat episodes, too. One dx was possible gall bladder, another a strong bug that needs an elimination diet to recover from. Hope your pediatrician can pin it down with a minimum of fuss and discomfort. Feel better fast, A3!

    And… hugs!

  2. Hey, girl. Weight gain is worrisome, but wee one getting sick is enough to make you stress eat. She may just be gluten intolerant. Celiac disease is more common than ever thought before. It’s hard, but manageable as an adult. As a kid? It’s gonna be tough, but still doable. Hugs and best of luck!!!!

The weird dreams are just migrating north, and you happen to be under the primary flyway. You can’t stop them from flying overhead, but you don’t have to let them nest in your hair. You’re ok, and the dreams are not your fault.

Poor A-3! If you wind up going gluten-free, then we’ll swing by Bob’s Red Mill and get their gluten-free flours and cookbook for you. Hope things firm up for her soon.

If your weight gain is totally out of left field, you might wanna have your kidneys checked. On the other hand,if you know where it’s coming from, then don’t worry. You have a whole wet spring to get into your summer bikini.

Maybe you need more Diet Coke? I know, I’m a terrible influence.
Not that you need more advise, but Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Tea. I would have said toast, but that’s got gluten. Good luck, and give her my love!
    Hugs to all!
