Summer in Mundania

When summer finally arrived in Mundania, the woman of the house rejoiced and embraced the outdoor life.  Her activities included, but were not limited to:

trimming back the herb garden and topping  scapes off the garlic,

picking, washing and freezing raspberries for future jam making,

watering and weeding the garden,

expanding the firepit,

spinning on the veranda,

and creating/knitting a new tank top.

But where were Mundania’s children?  The eldest was sleeping off a summer flu. The middle child amused herself by creating macabre works of art, while the youngest lass alternated between cooking/eating and watching movies via Netflix.

Meanwhile, the man of Mundania slaved away in a bleak and institutional environment, all to pay for the wool, comfortable bed, paint and food enjoyed by the rest of the family.

The woman sincerely hopes that Mundania’s summer weather will last more than one day, so that the other citizens might enjoy themselves as well… especially the man.

Happy summer!

I love your new design. The fresh food from the garden looks divine. And, try spinning on the veranda here right now (it’s 84 and 7:00 a.m) and you’d go up like a match. It’s going to be 104 today. We’re hoping for a break tonight with rain and everything. And, I sure hope B gets to enjoy that gorgeous summer today and tomorrow. Happy weekend, kiddle!!!!!

You so deserve a few days of summer in Mundania! I love spinning outside! And the new top is soooo pretty. Is it silk or cotton?

  3. I love your spinning wheel – it looks like something out of a fairy-tale!
