Catch Up Monday

Sunday morning my 3 girls and I lounged about in pajamas while enjoying fibery pursuits. Their dad took the time to savor the rare opportunity to sleep in.  He has to get up very early on most days. I knitted something to be felted and they used roving scraps to needle felt.  There weren’t enough foam pads for the three of them so to keep things fair they all used hard pillows.

Obviously we made  a huge mess, but we thoroughly enjoyed a tv free, squabble free morning.  I have no idea what the big white spot is in the picture, but there isn’t one on our wall.  Must be a flash reflection.  Oh well.  A1 made a mermaid

which she eagerly posed and photographed.  Later that day she walked over to her friend’s house and gave it to the friend as a present.

A2 started felting a kitty, but only one ear and part of its head was completed so she didn’t want any pictures taken.  She is  quite the perfectionist and none of her creations are shared until they are finished and meet with her stringent approval.

A3 made some kitty toys.  The kitty toys mysteriously dissappeared though.

This morning was spent doing the work I didn’t do yesterday.  In addition I listed a few things on ebay.  We have an unbelievably ridiculous amount of stuff.  Some of it will be put into an end-of the summer garage sale, but other items, like the glassware I listed, will  hopefully fare better and be appreciated more when offered up to collectors.

In the afternoon mail a package arrived from Crown Mountain Farms.  It contained a pound of roving ordered with the gift certificate sent to me by Cindy.  Thank you Cindy!  I can’t wait to spin it.  I divided it up into smaller bundles so it’s ready for the dyepots.

And in another package the Crazy 8 Club yarn from Mama-E arrived.  Sweet Jesus this stuff is gorgeous!  It’s a superwash/tencil blend in the Seasick colorway. Her artistic abilities really show in her choices of colors. And there is a “Rock the Dye Pot” Pin too.

It sounds like Karen has sold her house, had some successful house shopping of her own and now it’s full steam ahead for her and her family in the great family relocation epic.  Moving is always stressful, but the addition of three small children and a husband who’s away a lot for his job are bound to place extra burdens upon her.  I wish that I lived closer to help her out, or at least to witness first hand when she finally snaps and goes running naked down the median of I-5 screaming like a banshee.  Just kidding, Karen is very calm and organized.  Still, if you get a chance to then pop on over and wish her luck.

And after almost two weeks Penny‘s yarn is FINALLY packaged and ready to be mailed.  She also has been quite busy lately as her oldest son was injured.  Sorry about the delay Penny and hopefully his recovery is going well!

Time to get back to housework and dinner prep.  Cheers!
